Lake Stevens Elementary School and Early Learning Center

In the fall of 2016, Roger Hickel Contracting was awarded the contract to construct the Lake Stevens School District (LSSD) New Elementary School and Early Learning Center. The project consists of the simultaneous construction of the two new facilities on 38-acres of district owned land between Lake Drive and Soper Hill Road, east of Highway 9. The Elementary School is a two-story, steel-framed facility with an area totaling 80,000 square-feet.

The Early Learning Center (ELC) is a one-story, wood-framed facility with a total area of 22,500 square-feet. The (ELC) is scheduled to open in September of 2017 and will house preschoolers (ages 3-5) in the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program and the Developmental Preschool Program. In addition to classroom and learning spaces, the new ELC will provide space for family events that will strengthen engagement between the school and community, and with other early learning partners in Lake Stevens.

The Elementary School is a two-story, steel-framed facility with an area totaling 80,000 square-feet. This facility is scheduled to open in January of 2018 and will help to ease overcrowding in elementary schools throughout the district. The new school will have larger core spaces such as the cafeteria, gym, and parking lots that can better-accommodate the growing population in Lake Stevens.
